I begin my works by building the frame, stretching the fabric into canvas — and then I wait. I wait for the impulse to arrive.
Albert Carey Drasbæk (b. 2002, Copenhagen) is a Danish visual artist working primarily with painting, where the act of creation unfolds as an intuitive and psychological process.
His practice begins with the physical construction of the canvas, followed by a state of waiting, allowing impulse and subconscious sensation to guide the work rather than predefined intention. Each piece emerges as a negotiation between control and surrender, clarity and chaos.
Drasbæk’s work explores inner landscapes shaped by emotion, contradiction, and existential reflection. His compositions develop without fixed direction, allowing gestures, textures, and forms to surface organically.
